Ethical requirements and responsibilities
For authors:
- As a part of submission, by checking off predesigned statements, author(s) should certify that neither the submitted manuscript nor another one with its main content under their authorship has been previously published in any language or being considered for publication elsewhere.
- Author(s) should be responsible for the integrity of the whole work, from inception to published article.
- Author(s) should guarantee that data, which the research is based on, is available and will be provided if anyone needs it.
- In the event that an author is added or removed from the list of a manuscript’s authors, written acceptance, signed by other author(s), must be submitted to the editorial office.
- Any financial support received for the research project should be clearly acknowledged.
- Should the study involves humans, the author(s) must include a written statement which clarifies the study is approved by the local ethical committee and that written consent is obtained from the participants in the study. For those without formal ethics review committees, the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki should be followed. Also, the compliance of maintenance and care of experimental animals based on National Institutes of Health guidelines for the human use of laboratory animals should be declared in text.
- The manuscript author(s) must be responsible for obtaining all relevant permissions to use unpublished previous observations of others and stating it in the text. They should declare the names of the original author(s). Also, permission must be obtained to reproduce or adapt any figures or tables that have been published previously and declared in the legend/footnote.
- Author(s) should certify that their research study is in agreement with the regulations of their institution(s) and generally accepted guidelines governing such work; contains no violation of any existing copyright or other third party right; and is free of any obscene, indecent, libelous, or other unlawful material.

Instruction
Submission:

Three files must be submitted:

1-Manuscript file without names of authors: The manuscript should include: the abstract; introduction; methods & materials; results; discussion; acknowledgment and references. 
2-The title page: The manuscript title should be informatively made of maximum 15 words, and without any abbreviations. The short title should be maximum 44 characters (with spaces). The title page should contain author’s full names and their instructional affiliations, and ORCID.  E-mail, ORCID, address, telephone and fax number of the corresponding author should be included. 
3-Article Body: The submitted manuscript should contain:
Titles
Title: choose a title that is long enough to cover the main points and by considering the importance of shortness. Only the first letter of the first word of each title and also abbreviations should be in upper case.
Running title: a shorter version of the title (40 characters at most) is needed for page footer.
Authors & Affiliations
Author(s): full name of all authors should be mentioned (First name, Middle name and Last Name).
Affiliation: Author's affiliation contains only department and university not author's degree or position (Name of department, university, city and country).
Corresponding author: one of the authors should be picked out for possible correspondence before and after publication. Their address, telephone and fax number and email should be written.

Abstract: The abstract of original articles should include title, backgrounds & aim, methods & materials, results, conclusion and three to five keywords from the Medical Subject Heading (Mesh). The abstract of case report articles should include title, Background, Case presentation, conclusion and three to five keywords from the Medical Subject Heading (Mesh). The abstract of Review articles should include title, backgrounds and aim, methods & materials, results, conclusion and three to five keywords from the Medical Subject Heading (based on MeSH and in alphabetical order). The abstract should not be more than 300 words. 
Introduction: This should summarize the purpose and the rationale for the study. It should neither review the subject extensively nor should it have data or conclusion of the study.
Methods: This should include exact method, observation or experiment. If an apparatus is used, its manufacturer’s name and address should be given in parenthesis. If the method is established, give reference but if the method is new, give enough information so that another author is able to perform it. If a drug is used, its generic name, dosage and route of administration must be given. For patients, age and sex with mean age ± standard deviation must be given. Statistical method must be mentioned and any general computer program used in accordance must be specified. The information of system used should be clearly mentioned. 
Results: It must be presented in the form of text, tables and illustrations. The contents of the tables should not be all repeated in the text. Instead, a reference to the table number may be given. Long articles may need sub-headings within some sections (especially the results and discussion parts) to clarify their contents.
Discussion: This should emphasize the present findings and the variations or similarities with other work done in the field by other researchers. The detailed data should not be repeated in the discussion again. Emphasize the new and important aspects of the study and the conclusions that is following them. It must be stated whether the hypothesis mentioned in the article is true, false or no conclusions can be derived. 
Conclusion: In conclusion you restate your research question and summarize your main points of evidence for the reader. You can usually do this in one paragraph. The ending paragraph should summarize all the basic ideas presented within an essay or research paper. While drawing conclusions, keep in mind an important point that never add any new information in the last part of your essay. In ending paragraph, audience or readers do not expect anything new. Conclusion should have precise information. Do not repeat concepts and words that have been already mentioned. However, you should have enough synonyms and related words that can make your conclusion more attractive.
Acknowledgement: All manuscripts should contain an acknowledgement specifying and conceding contributors other than the authors. The authors should also recognize the financial support source in this section.
Conflict of Interest: The authors must declare any conflict of interests of contributed authors very briefly in a separate paragraph at the end of the paper. All sources of funding should be declared; unless otherwise the following sentence should be given “Authors declare no conflict of interests”.
Figures: All the figures should be submitted as either a TIFF or JPEG file. Line art must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch). All scanned images including electronic photographs/radiographs, CT scans, etc., must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. If fonts are used in the artwork, they must be converted to paths or outlines, or they must be embedded in the files. All figure legends should be typed on a separate page. Keep text in figure captions to a minimum but explain all abbreviation used. Total of figures no more than 4 figures.

Tables and diagrams: Each table should include a title above (sample table). Non-standard abbreviations should be explained as footnote of the table. Do not duplicate the data of the text in tables. If the results are presented as tables or diagrams, only mention the important points in the text. The diagrams are preferable method of presentation when there is large amount of data. The legends should be written under diagrams. The diagrams should be 2 dimensional. Total of tables no more than 4 tables.

References: The authors are responsible for the accuracy of citations provided. All manuscripts should be accompanied by relevant references. The references should be numbered consecutively in order of appearance. All references should be cited in text by numbers placed in square brackets (for example, Implant treatment results and complications were presented [1-3].)  The References should provide the following information as stated in the presented models regarding to Vancouver style. Write all references with ENDNOTE.

Books 
Below are the details needed to construct a book reference. All the details should be put in the exact order, with identical punctuation. Each element of the reference is separated from the next by a full stop.

If only a part is cited, add the page numbers, and volume number in the case of multi-volume works, at the end of the reference. Below is a sample book reference.

If you need to reference a book written by more than six authors, list the first six authors' names followed by "et al" thus:

Manuscript Preparation
To send electronically, manuscripts should be in Word Document (Microsoft Word). Please double check the article for spelling, structure and format mistakes.
Word Count Limits
These numbers show this journal word count limitations:
- Research Articles: 2500 - 3500 words (Maximum number of references is 55, Maximum Number of illustrations/Tables is 5)
-  Review Articles: 3500 - 4000 words (Maximum number of references is 80, Maximum Number of illustrations/Tables is 5)
- Systematic Review Articles/Meta-Analyses: 4000 - 4500 words (Maximum number of references is 100, Maximum Number of illustrations/Tables is 6)
-  Case Report: 1500 - 2000 words (Maximum number of references is 20, Maximum Number of illustrations/Tables is 2)
-  Letters to the Editor: 500 - 700 words (Maximum number of references is 10, Maximum Number of illustrations/Tables is 1)
-  Editorials: 500 - 1000 words (Maximum number of references is 10, Maximum Number of illustrations/Tables is 1)
-  Other articles: 1000 - 2000 words (Maximum number of references is 20, Maximum Number of illustrations/Tables is 2)
Fonts
To distinguish different parts of the article, it is recommended to use the font Times New Roman size 12 for the body, size 12 bold for subheadings, size 14 for headings and size 14 bold for the title.

Cover Letter
This letter should be uploaded through online system as a word file. By an official letter corresponding author should introduce the manuscript briefly and state that:
1- The manuscript is original work of author. All data, tables, figures, etc. used in the manuscript are prepared originally by authors, otherwise the sources are cited and a reprint permission should be attached.
2- The manuscript has not been and will not be published elsewhere or submitted elsewhere for publication.
3- Conflict of interest: To prevent the information on potential conflict of interest for authors from being overlooked or misplaced, mention this information in the cover letter.
4- Ethics of experimentation/Informed consent: The cover letter must include a statement declaring that the study complies with current ethical considerations.

Proof Reading: A computer printout is sent to the corresponding author for proof reading before publication, in order to avoid any mistakes. Corrections should be marked clearly and sent immediately to the Journal office. Abbreviations and symbols: Use only standard abbreviations. Avoid using them in the title and abstract. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text unless it is a standard unit of measurement.

Ethical approvals: In experimentation involving human subjects identifying information of the patients should be kept confidential and informed consent from the patient parents or legal guardian should be obtained if the patient is under the legal age. Authors must omit from their manuscripts any identifying details regarding patients and study participants, including patient names, initials, social security numbers, and hospital numbers. Patient details may be included only if they are essential for scientific purposes and the authors obtain written informed consent for publication from the patient, parent, or guardian.
These studies will only be published if the research has been conducted in full accordance with ethical principles of the University Ethical Committee and the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki revised in 2000. 
In animal experimental, animal care and instructions should be considered. Plagiarism should be avoided since it undermines credulity of the paper. Any manuscript that has similar or near similar hypothesis, sample characteristics, methodology, results, and conclusions to a published article is a duplicate article and prohibited. Submission and publication of clinical trial studies in Medical Sciences Journals in Iran should be preceded by registration at Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials www.irct.ir and the serial number should accompany manuscript submission.


Copyright: All submissions to the “Knowledge of Nursing” must be accompanied by a complete copy of signed cover letter including the copyright agreement by all authors. The authors should warrant that the article has not been published previously or is not under consideration for publication by another journal. Peer review process: The manuscripts would be considered for review by the date of reception. After initial editorial screening, manuscripts will be forwarded to two peer reviewers who are experts in the field. Qualified tacticians evaluate the statistical methods of the paper. If approved, depending on the article type, the manuscripts will be published in alphabetical order of the author’s last name. 


The final checklist
The authors must ensure that before submitting the manuscript for publication, they have taken care of the following:

2. Manuscript.
3. Photographs/ illustrations along with their captions.
4. Covering Letter.
